Advice on Kings Langley and Abbots Langley

Hi,

Posted on rural section but directed to here.

DH and I looking to move bit further out of London.

Saw some nice houses in Kings Langley and Abbotts Langley but don't know much about area.

Any MN users living there that can give real life advice?

No kids at moment but will have some in near future so schools important too - prefer state if possible.

Both work in the city a few days a week so need to bear that in mind.

Seen lots of thoughts on Harpenden, St Alban's, Hitchin, Berkhamsted etc but not much on these two areas I'm looking at. Something wrong with them?

The other areas mentioned all looks great and we love Harpenden, but unfortunately getting a house there is like hens teeth and other areas to expensive for our budget. Looking for a 4+ bed house but within £1m or so.

Any advice welcome. Thank you.

Also forgot to add. A lot of our family and friends are based around Rickmansworth, Northwood, Ickenham so don't want to be more than 20-30 mins away as we meet a lot (or will do once restrictions are over).

Both areas are lovely friendly villages. Kings Langley has the nicer high street and the secondary school so that would top it for me over AL
