About this Event
Suitable for beginner/intermediate cartooning teens, this one day course will equip you with the fundamentals you will need to create characterful illustrations.
Programme
Impress your friends and irritate your enemies. Impress your enemies and irritate your friends! Cartooning has a long and storied history of speaking truth to power and shining the light of ridicule into the face of authority.
Over the day you will learn how to structure and develop characters, denote body language and accentuate features, as well as many other useful tricks and tips. Perfect for lambasting politicians, depicting family pets or creating personalised portraits for friends.
Ideal for ages 13 to 16.
Tutor
This course will be taught by award winning artist and cartoonist Tommy Graham. Tommy has over 15 years experience in cartooning and has worked for numerous, websites, magazines and publications.
Materials
You will receive a list of essential materials 2-3 weeks before the course, if you want this list earlier please contact [email protected]
The essential materials will include pencils (H, HB, B as a starting point), A3 paper pad (cartridge paper or rag paper is best) a rubber and sharpener.
