Day out in the woods - nettle bracelet making on August 19th

I'm running a nettle bracelet making session for adults and kids aged 8+ in a private wood near Great Hampden.

We'll talk about how our ancestors used plants to make string, then gather some nettles (with gloves) and I'll show you how to twist them into cordage.

You can relax and take your time making a bracelet (or necklace if you're good!) whilst I use some of the nettle leaves to make nettle soup we can all try.

We'll also make decorative beads from the Elder tree to add to the bracelets.

Kids under 8 might struggle with the twisting technique required to make the string but you're welcome to bring them for free.

There is no knowledge needed and no upper age limit - this is great skill building for adults who are interested in primitive and outdoors skills.

Booking is essential at www.alexukbushcraft.com/courses.

10am - 12/12:30.
Bring clothes suitable for the weather.
Parking available on site - exact address is sent after booking.
