Party venue in City centre or in urmston/Stretford/Chorlton etc

Hi i am 40(!) Later this year and thinking of having a party. I want somewhere nice but not mega pricey. Id like to treat my friends to food and a few drinks but for there to be a paid bar.

Any nice venues around these parts?

Hi, my auntie had her 40th in The Whisky Jar in the NQ, it was great. She had the room downstairs, was being your own buffet food, and the room hire was free if spent more than £250 on the bar.
Another choice would be Dukes 92 in Castlefield. Have never been to a private function there myself but have been occasionally where there has been a do on upstairs and it always looks very nice and has the balcony included.
