Streatham-based comedy Podcast 'Release The Clowns' needs someone with amazing Social Media skills to help grow their fanbase.

This can be seen as either...
AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY FOR A SCHOOL LEAVER TO GET MEDIA EXPERIENCE!
or
A FUN WAY TO KEEP YOUR HAND IN WHILE YOU'RE MAINLY DOING YOUR PARENTING THING!

We need up to 7 hours a week of your time to promote our show through social and other media.

But before saying more, we have to stress this is UNPAID - because no one in the project is getting paid.

Still reading? Okay, here's the deal.

Release The Clowns is a comedy sketch Podcast that goes out every other week. You can find us here...

www.releasetheclowns.podbean.com

We are a group of London-based writers, performers and improvisers who are creating 15 minutes of fun just for the sheer joy of it. The show is non political, and is generally an antidote to a cynical world that seems to be constantly going to hell in a handcart. It's a celebration of what is silly and ridiculous in life - from The Godfather doing a ventriloquism act to vampires complaining about longer spring days, to gerbil maternity wards and assassin grannies. It's not a sensible show.
BUT we are sensible when it comes to making the show. Many of us are seasoned TV and Radio writers/performers, so if you're a media professional, you won't be working with a bunch of amateurs and if you're new to all this and looking for experience we can give you that in sackfuls.

What we need: Someone who really understands and is good at Social Media to help promote our show to current followers and, much more importantly, to find new ways of getting our show known by a much wider audience.
Your skills: You've got to be good with words, preferably funny and with an ability to adapt your writing style to the voice of the show so that all posts fit with our 'brand identity' - yes, I just wrote that!

NO PREVIOUS MEDIA EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY - we want someone with energy, humour and ideas who's a wiz on Twitter, Facebook etc etc. You need to be a 'self starter', who can be trusted to work from home and get sh!t done.

What you'll get: No Money. Sorry. Can't stress this enough. Nobody on this project is getting paid, including the writers, producers and performers.
If you're just starting out, we can offer INVALUABLE EXPERIENCE - this you will get. The producers, writers and performers of the show have huge amounts of TV and Radio writing/performing and production experience, which we will share with you. We will bring you up to speed on various aspects of the production. You can join us at recordings of the show and get to know how to set up and run a recording, organise a writing team and basically produce a Radio show. You will also get tips etc from an award-winning web copywriter on how to turn ideas into winning words. And as if all that wasn't enough, if you want to try your hand at writing for the show, you can.

If you're taking a child-orientated career break, what this offers you is a great chance to keep your skills going without huge amounts of pressure. Also, you can have some fun with us, make some new contacts and maybe even stretch yourself a bit if you want.

This is a great opportunity for anyone creative or who'd like to 'do' comedy to get right into the heart of a fun, friendly production, meet/work with a bunch of people with a ton of experience making comedy, while honing your abilities to write and, most important of all, getting something real to go on your CV. If you want production or writing experience, this could be a great first step/side project next to parenting.
