Beast! - A Children's Play at Colour House Theatre, Merton Abbey Mills

I've written and directed a children's play - Beast! - which is being performed all this week at the Colour House Theatre, Merton Abbey Mills twice a day (11.00am and 2.30 pm on Thursday - Saturday; 2.30 pm and 4.30pm on Sunday.) It opened today, and - while trying to stay modest - I think it's good fun. It was certainly well received, and there was some enjoyable inter-action between children in the audience and the cast, led by Neil Summerville, who is a regular Colour House performer. And there's even a specially-recorded introduction by Dame Judi Dench!

Sadly, this lovely little theatre struggles to get an audience, and both today's performances were barely half-full, which is rather dispiriting for my excellent actors. So if you'd like an end-of-holiday treat for all the family do try and get along to see this idiosyncratic take on Beauty & the Beast. It's a play for all ages from 3 upwards. You can reserve seats, find out details of the venue and (very modest) prices by going to the Colour House Theatre website at colourhousetheatre.co.uk

Oh - and Beast's running time is about one hour ten minutes.
