Party at a cinema for 8 year old's birthday?

Hi,

just wondering if anyone has successfully arranged a cinema trip for an 8 year old plus friends for their birthday.
My daughter wants to go to the cinema with some friends but I'm not sure how to arrange it. I don't really want a party package as they'll be a minimum number of guests which will be more than we were considering. I want to give the parents of our guests plenty of notice but won't know what films are on more than around 2 weeks in advance will I or what times the showings will be? So what do I do - send out "save the date" texts/invitations with details of exact film and time to follow?

Exactly that. We did that for DS's birthday last year - save the date/rough time on invite then confirmed by text once we could see the cinema times. We then booked the tickets, arranged lifts and booked Pizza Express for afterwards.

PS it was fab, a really lovely day.
