where can you take a 10 yrs old for a meal treat with a friend in nottingham or derby

Can anyone recommend somewhere special (not Pizza Hut or Macdonalds) where you could take a 10 yr old and friend for a birthday treat in Derby or Nottingham area

It depends on food they like. My 11 yo niece loves spicy food so I take her for Thai or Indian.
