Hi

I would really appreciate some advice. We are moving to the area and are confused as to which school to chose for our son. He is in Year 2 and doing well academically in his current school. Do they all prep well for 11+? He also loves sports so we are looking for somewhere which is strong academically but is also good all round. Thank you in advance.

Hi, I hope it's not too late. I have a boy at Thorpe house in gx and I haven't got enough words to recommend it. Small classes with tailored programmes on single boy, friendly and family environment, high academical resulta and a lot of sport and fun!

I’d appreciate advice too!
Am thinking of moving my son to Davenies... I’m led to believe that none of these schools, especially Thorpe, are particularly academic but does anyone have personal experience of Davenies?

Anyone have any current reviews of Thorpe house?

Hi Lel09,
There has been a mass exodus of boys leaving Thorpe House School Pre-Prep (Gerrards Cross) since Mrs Doran started roughly 5 years ago as head of pre-prep.

The school has been heavily advertising the Pre-Prep over the past year - they have had lots of available places to fill! Student numbers have dipped and high numbers of staff have left Pre-Prep.

If the school Board had been interested, they could have done exit interviews with staff and parents. This would have proved there are issues with the Pre-Prep leadership. I don’t know what the junior school (years 3 up) is like but for the sake of the kids hopefully it’s better.
