Is there a nice village somewhere not more than half an hours drive from Maidstone?

There's always Leeds Castle! Several places to stay around there.

Sissinghurst? There's the b&b at Sissinghurst castle and the Milk house pub also do rooms. Both look lovely. Or the George in Cranbrook?

Bearsted, Lenham, Yalding?

Second the George in Cranbrook, we love it and always stay in the Heather room, it's lovely.

Have also stayed at Leeds Castle, they have a little block of rooms, it was beautiful Smile

ThanksSmile I have been having a look at the places mentioned, the George is full the weekend we wanted. Leeds castle a bit expensive but will keep looking at those villages mentioned Smile

That's a shame but do look at the milk house in Sissinghurst - pub and restaurant both lovely. Haven't stayed there as am local but have heard their rooms are great.

Are you looking for somewhere lah-di-dah for a bit of a treat? Something unusual perhaps? Or just anywhere to stay that's not in town?

Totally going bonkers about primary schools and really need some advice. Independent vs outstanding state and how does one know if schools are really outstanding if ofsted has been inspecting seven years apart if not failing? Also thinking of relocating to somewhere else in hertfordshire thats not too built up and green and obviously nice for children to grow up in... small town or village. Be so pleased for any replies/ experience/ info/ advice Xxx

@Grace16 - you'd be better posting on your local board or in primary education! Wink
