Where to find nice 2nd hand furniture around Bristol?

Hi
In a few weeks we will arrive in Bristol from overseas. We've rented an unfurnished house. Can you tell me if you know any good second hand furniture shops, auctions, boot fairs that have a lot of furniture etc? I love old things so the thought of just going out and buying everything new just doesn't really appeal. Also, does anyone know the best online place to buy ASICS running shoes? Are there any specific UK based websites that offer good deals? Thanks for any advice!

You're coming to the right place! There are loads of places in Bristol for second hand furniture Smile

Here is a guide to various reclamation yards, shops etc from the Bristol Post, and here are some furniture ads from the Friday Ad.

Second chance furniture also has a very good 'upcycler' working there, who will paint/etc furniture to your spec at very reasonable rates. Well worth a look.

Also dear old thing in bedminster is good have bought a few things there.

Clifton has some good shops but you'll be paying over the odds

Stokes croft / Gloucester rd is a good area for second hand shops

If you would like a go at buying by auction then that's possible in Bristol too www.bristolauctionrooms.co.uk/.
As well as the shops mentioned above, you can also find items on gumtree, freecycle and local facebook selling pages.
