When I was eight, in 1936, my family moved to Poplar Mount Belvedere. My brothers and I, apart from brief periods away due to wartime evacuation, attended first West Street Junior School and then Picardy Central School.
In response to pleas from my grandchildren I am writing an account of my wartime childhood and have got to the stage when I spent a short time as a pupil at Picardy School. Searching the internet for information on, and images of, Picardy School frustrated me beyond measure until I finally discovered that the school had been re-named.
It may well be that you are unable to help me with my quest, but if not perhaps you would be kind enough to suggest who may be able to do so.
