Hi, my husband and I are about to put an offer in on a house in west end, Kings road. I don't know the area at all so would love to know if anyone can tell me anything about it. I have a 2 year old daughter and keen to move to somewhere with a family community. Currently live in claygate, Esher and would love to find a similar environment.
Will be needing a nursery (4 days a week, full time, 8 til 6), a decent local pub and park / playground.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Elle, are you aware of the three major proposed developments in West End? One of them is right by Kings Road.

West End is great for small families and my favourite of the three villages ( Chobham has more pubs and things but is only five minutes away and can be a bit flood-y in the winter)

There is a good preschool in the village which is by the playground and excellent primary and middle school. There are lots of village events and fetes etc, Bisley has a really good Strawberry fair in the summer. I'm local to the area so pm me if you like.

Thanks so much for the heads up on the developments SmallBee, the estate agent had mentioned one of them but suggested it was only a couple of houses, not 35! and the one at the end of the road didn't come up - 85 houses!! I will let you know what we decide to do.

If I were you I would look for secondary schools and work backwards from there. I am not sure where the children in West End go to secondary school? I believe Gordons has a very limited catchment for day pupils as it mostly is a boarding school. Plus there are fees to attend it even though it is a state school.

I think Horsell might suit you. Or maybe Windlesham?

Sunninghill is lovely but pricey.

I love the Chobham village feel and the local community activities. It also has an award winning eatery. Lots of great schools too. Waterfords seems the estate agent with best local knowledge as Chobham is quite a small area. good luck finding your new home

My favourite is Chobham as I love the village feel. It has a prize winning eatery and lots of great schools. The best estate agent with local knowledge is, I think, Waterfords as Chobham is a relatively small area. Good luck finding your new home.
