NOMINATE A DEVON MUM TO WIN A CHRISTMAS BRUNCH HAMPER!

I don’t know about you but – as much as I love Christmas with kids – it’s pretty bloody exhausting. Presents to buy, a house to decorate, school events to attend, cake to bake and, of course, Christmas dinner to prepare. I rely on other people to sort the food – but even with this off the list, I’m usually flagging by Christmas day. You spend weeks thinking about other people, you forget about looking after yourself.

Us mums deserve an extra special treat at Christmas.

There is a catch. I’m afraid you can’t win it. As Christmas is all about giving – we want you to nominate another Devon mum to win it.

Simply leave their name in the message below – and, if you’re feeling sentimental, please tell us why you want to treat them to the hamper.

This isn’t the kind of competition where the most deserving mama wins – because you ALL deserve this treat. Instead, nominees will be entered into a draw and the winner pulled out a hat.

And, it being the season of goodwill, we’d like to hand deliver the Artisan Provender Christmas brunch hamper to the winner.

The mum needs to be living in Devon.
We will hopefully take some pics of the mum receiving the hamper so the winner will need to agree to this before receiving the prize.
Winner will be picked at random by noon on Thursday 24 November 2016 and notified so that we can get in touch with the nominee.
The hamper is likely to be delivered on Mon 28 November 2016.

I can't think of a better person who deserves to be treated with this stunning prize, than my wonderful friend Emily Heather. Emily is a mum who, somehow manages to take care of her little ones age 3 and 1, but who is also very active with the charity work. Every year she organises uniform collections for the children whose parents can't afford to buy it themselves. If there's any fundraising going in town for a good cause, you can be sure that Emily will be part of it. Emily is the most selfless person I know and I'd love some of her kindness to be given back to her because I know, good deed done for her will be returned 100 times more. I am very proud of my lovely friend!

Now I'm a mum myself I understand........that's why I'd lie to nominate my hero mum.....now 65, she lives like she's 20! Engaging, social and an amazing laugh, she has shown my and my sister that even being dealt a tough hand at certain times of your life is only temporary......she's given time over the years to a youth club, young adults with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties and well anything that involves under 18's......she's raised two independent, strong, forthright women who are leaders and shes managed to build meaningful relationships with her grandchildren.......she doesn't knit, or make loads of tea or do a jumble sale every week but she does stand in front of all who need it and lead a cry to victory for all causes that required it. I've learnt from the best about sacrifice, resilience and life's true successes......I'd be lost without her! If nothing comes of this, it's good to write it down for the world to see anyway, that's the least she deserves. Thanks Mum xxxxx
