Training to be a psychotherapist - need a find a family to work with!

Hi everyone,

I'm a local mum training to be a psychotherapist at the Tavistock, to work with children who need extra emotional support.

As part of our training, we need to find a family with a child between 0-2, who would be happy to let me observe the child with it's mum or carer, for an hour a week, so that I can get some experience of ordinary child development. We can't use friends or family, and I'm really struggling to find someone!

I know this is a really unusual request! But, does anyone think they could help, or know someone who might?

The observations would take place in the family home, and the baby and the family would be kept totally anonymous in any work I did afterwards. I have all the paperwork from the Tavistock, and DRB checks etc.

Please please get in touch if you would consider this! I cant finish my training without finding a family, and I would be so hugely grateful if anyone could help me out.

Just some extra info on me - I'm a mum of two, my oldest child go to Harris Primary in Shortlands and my youngest to Les Enfants nursery in Bromley. As well as doing my course at the Tavistock I work as a child counsellor in Scots Part Primary school.

Many thanks - so hoping someone might be able to help me out!

Molly :)
