Olney to Bedfford commute to school...what's it like?

Hi all! Moving out of London over the summer to Bedfordshire area. Got our two sons into Rushmoor school and we we quite like Olney as a place to live. Anyone do the commute in the mornings...how long does it take? Heard it may be trafficky but has that changed with the new bypass?

Hi we don't live in Olney but a village to the west of Bedford. You would pass very near it on your commute from Olney. Our DC go to BMS which is literally round the corner from Rushmoor.
The new bypass has helped the traffic but they are building 1500 houses down it so eventually it will snarl up like the other routes.
I never leave my village after 7.45am otherwise I sit in traffic for ages. It is about 20-25 mins from Olney to where I am.
Lots of my son's friends live in Olney and go to BMS.

Ok hmm.... useful to know thank you. The boys are only 3 & 6 so not keen to be sitting in the car too much. Might have to look at some places closer to Bedford.

Hi Mummyjules8...My daughter attends Rushmoor.. due to the location, you will encounter traffic whichever direction you're coming from. But with practice.. You will master the correct time to start your journey. :)
