Secondary Schools around Maidenhead : small and not focused on academic curriculum and tests

Hello

My son struggles at school due to dyspraxia and dyslexia. He has a few more years at primary yet but we are starting to think about secondary school. A big full on school focused on the national curriculum will not be good for him so I want to find out if there are any secondary schools (I know will probably be private) that teach in a more nurturing creative way?

any one have any news or advice , in and around Maidenhead....

thanks so much

Claires Court in Maidenhead is non-selective. Excellent pastoral care.

My Daughter went to Claire’s Court (secondary school) in Maidenhead and was bullied basically from the start. The school did NOTHING about it.
My daughter joined this school in year 7 and only lasted a year and a bit because the girls in her year were vile.
They were teasing her, pushing her etc but the final straw was when they made up a gossip that she undressed her her completely before PE and was flashing everyone with her “bits”.
We spoke to the school multiple times, we showed them the screenshots of the girls calling my daughter names and the school wasn’t interested. They said that they’ve asked the girls in question about all this but they declined the allegations so the case was closed!
we spoke to the tutor, the head of year, the head of pastoral care and the head teacher and they did NOTHING!
The only action taken was to organise an assembly for all the girls in the year and show them a video of penguins and tell them that they should be like those animals, sweet and kind to each other…
We have moved our daughter to a different school where she’s happy and thrives but unfortunately the “naked gossip” made its way even here.
These little nasty monsters are making my daughter’s life a misery even after she’s left the school.
our current school is dealing with this very well but they can’t do anything about those disgusting creatures from Claire’s Court.
And Now I know we’re not the only ones who had similar experience with this school. Bunch of girls leaves this hell every year and the mums of remaining girls know very well why is there such a high rotation rate but they’re glad their girls are not victims so they stay put.
If you’re planning to send your daughter to this school DON’T!!!
the only girls that thrive there are the really sporty, pushy, bi7chy ones so if your daughter is not this way don’t risk it as she might be targeted and then it’s too late as the school won’t help you.
don’t believe me, go and ask them to show you how many girls leave each year.
Also, the headteacher is a complete joke with nothing substantial to say and he always hides behind his sidekick (head of pastoral) who does NOTHING to help victims but a lot to cover up for the bullies.
