Student looking for Caribbean mother and newborn baby to observe

Hello, I am training to become a parent-infant psychotherapist with the School for Infant Mental Health (www.infantmentalhealth.com). Students need to find a mother and newborn baby to observe until the child's second birthday.

The aim of the observation is to see how the baby interacts with the people closest to them and to witness their development first-hand. The student does not interfere in any way or offer advice or assistance - the role is purely observational.

The observations take place weekly in the family home, mostly in term time. Trainees need to meet with the family a few weeks before birth to discuss the observations. I am looking for a Caribbean mother and baby to observe as Caribbean families are under-represented.

Students are reference checked and hold an Enhanced DBS. The training institute will be able to confirm my student status. In the first instance, I would be able to meet with you. You might like to have a family member or friend with you, or you might be in touch with a health professional or, if you have children already, children's centre or nursery staff, who might be able to meet me with you.

Enquiries welcome. I look forward to hearing from you.
