Meningitis B vaccine - where to get and cost?

I'm seriously considering getting the Men B vaccine for my DC, they are both under 6 but were too old to get it on the NHS when it was launched last year.

I've still to phone my GPs to see if they can help, but wondered if anyone else was having similar thoughts and knew of anywhere that did this privately?

I've also read of varying costs, from £130 for both injections (initial and follow up), to £400 (same), so good to know what costs people have been advised.

Polite request - I don't want this thread to become a debate on if you agree or not about getting this or any other vaccine. This thread is for those who are thinking about it and/or who have had it done. Thanks

There's a similar post on Facebook.

The Edinburgh Clinic in Colinton Road
The Travel Clinic in Newington

Other people have had it privately at their GP.

And Boots on Princes Street.

The cost was about £120 but there appears to be a shortage of the vaccine.

Thanks Groovee - I'll check out FB also.

I had heard there was a shortage, not surprising really with the news of that little girl at the weekend. so sad. Thanks for your reply

Yes had it done but I'm down south. Cost around £300 for both. Would do it again in a heartbeat even if I was on the breadline. Good luck finding somewhere.

Paid £120 per dose last year in Edinburgh at the Travel Clinic near the Commonwealth Pool.
