The greatest gymnastics event on Earth is coming to Scotland!
Glasgow will play host to the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships from 23 October until 1 November 2015, where over 600 of the world's best gymnasts from 91 countries will compete to become World Champion and secure their place at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
The competition schedule will comprise 4 days of qualification events followed by 6 days of finals where gymnasts compete in team, all-around and individual apparatus events.
Amongst an array of World stars, fans in Glasgow will have a unique opportunity to watch history unfold in the Men's and Women's All-around competitions, as reigning World Champions Kohei Uchimura (JPN) and Simone Biles (USA) both strive to break World title records.
Uchimura, one of the greatest male gymnasts in history, will be going for this sixth consecutive World All-around title, something no man has ever achieved. Unbeaten in World All-around competition since the 2008 Olympic Games, Uchimura has enjoyed a long reign at the very top of the sport and he shows no signs that the sun is setting on his dominance.
For her part, Biles will attempt to win her third consecutive World All-around crown. The 18-year-old American is aiming to become the only woman in the modern era of gymnastics to win three in a row.
One lucky Mumsnetter will win one family ticket to the World Gymnastics Championships for the Men's Team Final on Wednesday 28 October plus a t-shirt signed by Louis Smith.
To enter, post on this thread telling us what your favourite gymnastics event is and why.
Tickets are now on sale so don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to get closer to the action than ever before thanks to the spectacular ‘in-the-round’ layout of the host venue, Glasgow’s SSE Hydro.
Good luck!
