What are Blindsides?
'BlindSides are a simple solution to banish light from the sides of your blackout blinds and curtains.
'I came up with BlindSides because after having bought blackout blinds for my children’s bedrooms I was really disappointed that they still let in light down either side.
'I searched for something to cover this gap at either side of the window. After not being able to find anything I decided to make something myself. I soon realised that what I had made could actually be a product of real use to other people – parents who want to ensure their children's rooms are as dark as possible or in fact anyone who likes to sleep in a properly dark room…. and so BlindSides were conceived!
BlindSides come in pairs, one for each side of the window. They hook over the top of the roller blind or curtain and bridge the gap between the edge of the blackout blinds or curtain and the wall or window frame, blocking out the sliver of light that gets through. The length of the BlindSides is easily adjustable so they can fit your windows exactly. A flexible top strip can be molded to make the BlindSides flush to the wall and they have a weight at the bottom to ensure they stay in place.
BlindSides can be used with curtains or roller blinds and are portable so can be taken with the user to other locations, for example on holiday. I hope that our simple product will help add much needed extra sleep to both your and your children’s lives.'

- How to Enter

- When to Enter and Who can Enter
2.1. The Competition opens on Monday 7 September 2015 and closes midnight, Saturday 12 September.
2.2. Entrants can enter at any point between these dates.
2.3. Entrants can enter the Competition once via facebook and once via twitter, so two entries in total per person.
2.4. The Competition is only open to UK residents aged 18 or over, excluding employees and agents of Mumsnet Barnet and anyone professionally connected with the administration of the Competition.
- Prizes
3.1. The prize for winning the sixth competition from the #BestBarnetBasket is a pair of Blindsides worth £27.99.
3.2. The Prize is as stated and it cannot be sold or exchanged for cash, goods or services. Unless specifically agreed in writing by Mumsnet Barnet, the Prize is not transferable and must be taken by the winner in person.
- Data Protection and Publicity
4.1. You consent to your name and any basic information about you being disclosed on Mumsnet Barnet’s website and digital channels or other media if you win any Prizes under the Competition.
4.2. Any personal data relating to participants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation. By entering the Competition, you agree that Mumsnet Barnet may contact you in relation to the Competition.
4.3. Competition winners will be contacted by Mumsnet Barnet. You must provide accurate contact details on notification.
4.4. Mumsnet Barnet reserves the right to use the name of the winners for publicity and in advertising, marketing or promotional material without additional compensation or prior notice to the winners. In entering the Competition, all participants consent to such use of their name.
- Competition Rules

6.1.2. any changes to, supply of or use of the Prize; and
6.1.3. any act or default of any supplier, which are beyond Mumsnet Barnet’s reasonable control.
6.2. Mumsnet Barnet does not accept responsibility for any liability arising from technical incompatibility, problems relating to the internet, or technical difficulties of any kind.
6.3. Mumsnet Barnet shall not be liable, whether in tort, contract, misrepresentation or otherwise for loss of profits, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goods, loss of use, loss or corruption of data or information, or any special, indirect, consequential or pure economic loss, costs, damages, charges or expenses.
6.4. You agree to indemnify Mumsnet Barnet against all liabilities, claims and expenses that may arise from any breach of your agreement with Mumsnet Barnet.
- Jurisdiction
7.1. The Competition and these Terms and Conditions are governed by English Law. England & Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.
