Does anyone know this area of Watford - is it a nice place to live?
We are thinking of moving there with our 2 year old son and would need childcare and then a good school- I was thinking possibly the courtyard nursery on leavesden road and then beechfield school when he is older. Does anyone know if these settings are ok? I've read the Ofsted reports but just wondered what general opinion was. Also interested in your thoughts on that area and its local community and things to do. Thank you!

Hello, can someone give me more information about the area around beechfield school, in terms of which areas to avoid. We are looking at properties around and would like to understand which areas are worth avoiding. Thanks.

Various roads around the Harebreaks are council housing if that's what you mean. Gammons Lane quite mixed. Lots of Victorian terraces (not council) on the parallel roads off Leavesden Road (Brighton Rd, Jubilee St, Judge St etc etc) - not exactly the poshest part of Watford but decent (small) terraces. Parking an absolute nightmare. To be honest, I feel perfectly safe around any of the roads round there. It's hardly the inner city.

Do you have DC, would you expect them to go to Beechfield and have you read the Beechfield Ofsted report?

Are you just looking around Beechfield? Have you considered the area just to the east of the A412 (the St Albans Rd), or slightly further east than that (around Knutsford School, and the roads with Tudor in their name)?
