Just moved to the area and are hoping to get some recommendations for playgrounds in or near Sherwood and Mapperley Park. Happy to drive too. Please recommend your favorite playgrounds.

Thanks!

Woodthorpe Park is lovely & not too far.
Arnot Hill park in Arnold is great too or the play park (or skate ramps if you are a bit older) at Colwick are good fun plus there is the ducks & geese for little ones to see
If you fancy a bit of nature & a walk there are loads of great places run by the Wildlife Trust or the new country park at what was Gedling colliery.
All are fairly close to Sherwood / Mapperley

I second Woodthorpe Park. They do a free Forest Kids session on Thursdays from 10 til 12 (meets at the golf hut at 10).

Further out, if you don't mind driving my DCS favourite park is Rushcliffe Country park - good for a full day out as massive play area plus activity bits in woods, lake etc.

There's a relatively new pirate park on hick all road too. It's next to Bulwell Forest golf course!
