We have been asked by The North West London Collaboration of Clinical Commissioning Groups to pass on this message to you:
As some of you may be aware, on 20th May 2015 Ealing Clinical Commissioning Group’s Governing Body decided that changes to maternity services in North West London, which will include the closure of Ealing Hospital’s maternity unit, will come into effect from 1st July 2015.
Ealing Hospital is contacting all women who are currently booked to give birth at Ealing to let them know if they are affected by the closure date and, if so, discuss with them what their options are.
The changes will mean that across NW London, maternity services are improved with more senior consultant cover, more midwives and upgraded facilities in the maternity units at Chelsea and Westminster, Hillingdon, Northwick Park, Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea, St Mary’s and West Middlesex. As well as these improvements, it’s important to note that most women from the borough of Ealing will still be able to have the majority of their antenatal and postnatal appointments within the borough of Ealing, if they wish.
There are a number of materials available to help women make a choice about where to give birth. You can see all the materials <a class="break-all" href="//(www.ealingccg.nhs.uk/your-services/giving-birth-in-north-west-london.aspx" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here
There is a booklet, an EasyRead booklet (also available in other languages), a map of the maternity units in NW London and a bus map from TfL showing how to get from Ealing to other maternity units.
