Please see below the message from Councillor Peter Mason, Chair of the London Borough of Ealing’s Health and Adult Social Services Scrutiny Panel.
At its next meeting, the Scrutiny Panel will be considering Ealing CCG’s plans for the transition of maternity, neonates, paediatric and gynaecology services from Ealing Hospital. As well as seeking assurance from the CCG on the arrangements for the transition for example around capacity, clinical safety and quality, the scrutiny panel will be asking some broader questions about the adequacy of pre and postnatal care and support in the borough; breastfeeding support and acceptance; and maternity clinical services reconfiguration.
The Chair would like to invite a couple of representatives from Ealing Mumsnet to the scrutiny panel meeting to share the group’s knowledge and experience of the maternity services, including pre and postnatal care, in the borough of Ealing.
The Scrutiny Panel meeting , which is on Wednesday 27 May at 7.00pm in Ealing Town Hall, is held in public and is made up of 12 councillors.
Ealing CCG will be attending the meeting to talk about the transition of maternity services from Ealing Hospital. The Chair will then invite the other participants around the table to join in with a wider discussion on maternity services in the borough. Ealing National Childcare Trust, Ealing 135 and the Royal College of Midwives have also been invited to attend.
