Relocating from Northumberland and our beautiful house is available

Hi everyone, I have noticed lots of posts from people wanting advice about where to relocate in Northumberland. We are moving in the opposite direction - to Cambridge - purely for work relocation reasons and are devastated to leave the area. Our little girl has grown up near Hexham amongst wildlife with our dog in a fabulous country location. We would love our converted barn to go to a loving family who'll cherish it as much as we have. It's four bedrooms (three large, one smaller) just 10 miles outside Hexham and 5 mins to the A69 with easy access to Newcastle and Carlisle. It has fruit trees/bushes and wild ducks in the garden. An aga in the kitchen for warm winter evenings and to cook your jam! Curlews nest in adjoining field. There are good schools and a newly refurbished pub just a 2 minute walk away as well as being smack bang in the middle of the most beautiful countryside with fields adjoining 50% of the property! Peaceful and quiet but nice neighbours nearby on converted farm dwelling. I have more photos. Thanks everyone.

Hello, there is a strong possibility we will be moving to Northumberland/Hexham area this summer. We would be interested in your kind of property if we were to move. Is it listed with an estate agent yet? What is the guide price? Any advice on schools etc in Hexham? How long does it take to drive to central Newcastle (the uni)? Sorry, lots of questions. Would be interested on your thoughts re Hexham in general as a place to move a 10-year old and 7-year old to. Thanks for your time and feeling your pain re moving in general. We're feeling very uncertain about whether we should take this leap or not.

Hi Possibly Moving to Northumberland!
Yes, we are listed with an agent. Great schools in the area. Our little one went to Sele First School in Hexham-lovely, right next to a park. They have a wide catchment area. It was very good. There is also St Josephs Middle School (a church school - but no need to be staunch Catholic according to friends who have children there. I know children there who come from further out than where our home is so also wide catchment). There is Haydon Bridge High School or Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham.
You'll find properties where we live are cheaper and with gardens and outside space - whereas in Hexham properties are more expensive for less and no gardens of any size at all. That's why we moved further out.
My husband and I both worked in Newcastle near the Uni - and it is 50 mins - can be a little longer in rush hour. The A69 is not far from the house which is your main route in. The Northumberland coast is an hour and ten minutes east and Lake District is the same distance in the west. Best of both worlds/
I wonder if we can message privately? Can send you a link. Not done this before!!
