advice on High Barnet / Whetstone / other N areas part. about schools

Hi all, we're in the process of moving a bit more to the north of the northern line, looking for a house to buy and we're considering a few areas. We mainly have in mind good (enough) secondary schools as a factor to take into account. But other things too, such as an area with a nice feel to it, green spaces & a (relatively) OK distance from tube. Possibilities:

1. Whetstone
2. High Barnet
3. Woodside Park / North Finchley (a bit more pricey for us)
4. East Finchley / Muswell Hill (much more pricey but worth an investigation)

Suggestions?
