New Bertie & Boo Restaurant and Play coming to Northcote Road

We've just heard that kids' entertainers Bertie & Boo are building on the success of their "Treasure Island" soft play cafe in Balham, with a new "restaurant and play" which will open on Northcote Road this May.

Northcote Road has been crying out for something like this ever since Crumpet closed.

Yes, I saw their notice up in the window of Vito's today. Quite a long way along Northcote (unless you are endlessly buying ridiculously overpriced irongmongery from SDS as I am ) but I am sure it will do well with the under 5 crowd.

Nice to see something opening on Northcote other than estate agents and high street chains anyway.

I agree it's great to see new independents coming to Northcote Road - it has lost it's soul a bit recently.

Hopefully a specific child focused restaurant might free up some of the other restaurants/pubs/bars on the road to become a bit more adult orientated too. Don't get me wrong - I have kids - but pretty much everywhere is overrun by young children on the weekend and sometimes it is nice to have a pub/bar to escape to for a quite half an hour (especially when the Rugby is on).

Great news about B&B - I'm sure I'll be a regular customers with my little monsters darlings.

NorthcoteDad - try the bars on Lavender Hill they're mostly full of trendy young twenty somethings rather than families.

We hear there is now an official opening date for this... 10th May so not long people!
