Belleville applies to open a new free school

According to the latest council paper's, Belleville has now submitted an official application to open a new 2 form entry free school in the borough.

It doesn't seem that a site has been identified yet and the Council doesn't seem to see a need for another school in the Northcote area as in the immediate vicinity of the existing Belleville schools 'the number of places required is projected to decrease slightly over the next 3 years'.

Instead, the Council seems keen for the new school to be a bit further north in Latchmere or Shaftesbury ward.

Hi - could you link to this at all please? As a parent in CC northside with a child needing a primary school place in 2016 I'm very interested in this!

Hi Astolat

Here's a link to a 'news' item about it on the Belleville website and this one will take you to the Council's report on the projected need for school places next year. The new Belleville school is covered at paragraph 16.

Neither gives very much more detail though.

Thank you! Will watch with interest. Good spot by the way.
