opening a natural baby shop in Edinburgh

Hi, I wanted to get your opinion on our idea to open a natural parenting shop in Edinburgh.

I am a mum with a passionate belief in natural parenting, I recently moved to Edinburgh from London and have found that there is no one stop shop to buy all things useful and natural for pregnancy and baby care as well as get practical advice and support as a new mother.

I want to create a destination where parents can feel relaxed and well informed when choosing things to buy for their new baby.

The shop would sell environmentally friendly, natural, organic, fair trade and practical products for parents and their babies from pregnancy to 3yrs.
Products would include slings, real nappies, books, clothes, skincare, toys.
In addition to this the shop would have a cafe where parents can relax and feed their babies. The cafe could also be used for things like NCT meetings and other classes.

I would love to know what you think and find out if there is a demand for this in Edinburgh, please let me know what you think, I am open to any suggestions! Thanks.

I think this is a great idea, ican imagine stockbridge being a good location

Location wise I'd agree you probably want to be in Stockbridge, or Morningside type area possibly. There's a new all wooden toy toddler group just started in Stockbridge which is very busy.

I've often wondered about this myself, I think it could work. Stockbridge would be a good location, there are lots of potential customers round here.

Thank you for commenting, yes, we are looking for a premises in Stockbridge, the shops are very small though, but we might get lucky eventually, Ive seen the posters for the wooden toddler group up in the park, I might go with my daughter and see what they think there.

I think this is a great idea and would be happy to recommend you to my mums, if you go ahead. My preference would be Morningside as I am based South side! Get in touch if it works out.
