Moving to Salisbury - advice on travel and is Wilton an option?

Hi Everyone,
We are looking to move from London as both love Salisbury (DH went to college in Salisbury and we've a big group of friends). I will still be commuting to London for the foreseeable future though so need to live close to the station. Ideally I wanted to be able to walk, but that doesn't seem to be an option. We have a budget of around £350k (could stretch a bit) and ideally want 4 bedrooms. We have pretty much seen every house currently on the market within a 1-mile radius of the station!
I have been looking at the new Redrow estates in Wilton - can anyone local advise on the best way to get from there to Salisbury station? What times do the buses run? Is the traffic bad in the morning?
I'd love to hear from anyone already doing this commute!

the station is hardly in a des res area tbh, that is your issue.

Wilton road can be a real PITA altho buses are frequent. Lots of queing in the summer too.

I would rent for a while somewhre in town and walk to the station

Hi! Note this thread is so old but @LondonLancashireRose what did you end up doing? In the EXACT same boat as you now and also looking at the Wilton redrow estate. Would be great to hear your experience. Thanks!

Gosh, I forgot I even posted this! We have lived in Salisbury nearly 9 years now and did eventually buy only 15mins walk from the station. But I only commuted by train for a couple of months as I got a new job locally. I don't think Wilton would suit for a regular commute if I'm honest - but possibly for 1/2 days a week? The trains have got a lot less reliable in the time that we have lived here too unfortunately. Do DM me if you'd like to discuss!
