Please give me your opinions on Little Ealing Primary & Fielding Primary

Hello everyone,

We will shortly be locating to Ealing from abroad and I would greatly appreciate your opinions on Little Ealing and Fielding Primary schools.

We will have to do a late admission request for my 4 year old as we won't actually live in Ealing until June time.

Looking online, Little Ealing seems very popular and good all-round; Fielding seems to struggle in some areas but is also generally well-reviewed. Are they both good schools?

Also, Little Ealing offers a map of their catchment area on their site (not sure how reliable it is though...!); would anyone have exact details of the two catchment areas please? We are looking to buy a house & want to give ourselves the best chance of getting into one of these schools (I know... it's almost impossible... But I have to be optimistic otherwise I will go mad...!)

Also, other than LEP and FP, are there others that we could consider in the same area?

Hi, the two schools are both pretty similar and both feed into the same high school- Elthorne. The main difference is that Fielding is a 4 form entry as opposed to Little Ealing which is a 3. The main problem you will have is that both are heavily oversubscribed so chances are you will be on a waiting list however all the primaries in Ealing are good so don't panic!

Both schools are generally well thought of and over subscribed and as you are doing a late admission you will need to be as close to the school as possible so you jump to the top of the list for when a place becomes available. You absolutely aren't guaranteed a place just for being in catchment and both schools will have waiting lists.

If, as your other post suggests, you are trying to buy a house near Lammas or Walpole parks you are unlikely to get into either. Primary places in Ealing are really under pressure and you need to be realistic about your chances, maybe have a plan B. Are you religious? That gives you more options.

Thank you so much for your answers and your help! We are not religious so I don't think that's an option for us but thank you for the suggestion. We definitely need to get back to the drawing board to come up with a viable plan B!!
