Might be moving to cumbria - honest thoughts of Whitehaven and surounding areas

Hi ladies my OH has an interview in Whitehaven and i would like honest opinions regarding the area and surrounding areas. We have 2 girls under 3 any information will help. Were currently living in Oldbury, West Midlands and this would be a huge move for us. Thanks in advance, Terri.

Depends where you are for friendliness. Some areas have very little movement in and out and are less friendly. It’s not necessarily on purpose, just breaking into established groups which is always hard.

In the Lakes itself people don’t like offcomers buying housing as it pushes up prices for locals and the assumption is you won’t add to the area. If you aren’t holiday home people you’ll get accepted sooner.

We are moving to ulverston and I've joined mums groups and local groups on fb and I've been over whelmed with people being kind and welcoming.
