Moving back from Australia to Norfolk with kids that need a good school

After nearly 4 years living in Sydney we are moving back to the uk to be near family. Super happy and super sad all at the same time, Sydney is amazing and a fantastic place to bring up kids but the grandparents and aunties at home outweigh the great weather in oz.

The problem I have is where to live in Norfolk, we had a home in Gayton near kings Lynn and my husband will need to use the train station so it can't be too far, thinking north wootton, snettisham etc but what are the best areas for a 10 and 7 year old and which school???

The last time I was in the uk looking at schools I spoke to someone at Norfolk education who told me I didn't have a choice what school, I had to take whatever was available, is this still the case?? Are schools overrun like I hear in the news?

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you :)
