Hey Everyone,
My name is Jenna and I am youth worker at Eighteen And Under
This is just a little bit to let you all know what we do and what we have to offer at Eighteen And Under for young people in and around Dundee.
We are a charity that offers free and confidential support and information to young people. We can be contacted by phone, email, text, etc.. Or young people can just drop in and ask to speak with someone (for more info see here, www.18u.org.uk).
Within Eighteen And Under we also have the Learn 2 Listen Project which helps disadvantaged young people to build their confidence, communication skills, general wellbeing and to improve their future prospects (i.e. going into further education and/or finding employment).
One of the things we do to help young people achieve the above is run a number of evening activities. These activities are:
Monday – In house BSL lessons (British Sign Language).
Tuesday – Training in various support and education techniques.
Wednesday – We take part in signing with the deaf community at the local Deaf Hub.
Thursday – Movie Night.
Friday – Games night (often aimed at personal safety and wellbeing)
I hope some of you find this information interesting and if you would like to find out more you are welcome to come along and take a tour around our place, have a chat and a cuppa!
For more info give our Project Leader Keiran a call or text on 07707531976 or email on [email protected]
Thank you :)
