Mum to 8 month old needs Mummy friends as new to Urmston

I moved to Urmston in June when our little bear was 10 weeks old. Since then I've been to lots of groups but not managed to work into the exiting little groups that had already formed. Any mums out there with a young baby who'd like to meet up every now and then to swap milk-nappy-play-sleep-repeat stories?

HI, I don't know if you drive but there are active meet ups in Chorlton & Didsbury if you wanted to come along, very welcome to swap repeat stories. Look on meet up page to see next one.

Hi there. I moved to Urmston in August and have a seven month old. Also found it hard to go to groups as friendships already seem established. Up for meeting up for a drink anytime. X

Hi
Did you manage to find any nice groups to go too?i've moved to Urmston a while ago & just had my first baby at the beginning of January.not quite finding maternity leave as I expected!you don't get so much interaction back from an 8week old-like you said it's eat, sleep, nappy repeat... I never thought I'd miss work but there is a lot to be said for a bit of adult conversation!

Have you tried your local children centre?

Hi,

So sorry for the delay. It seems I didn't get these messages at the time. Argh! Could've done with a meet up and meeting some new people. Littlepea2014 did you manage to meet some local Mum's? I still haven't. I've been to groups and there's people that I'll chat to whilst there but nobody who I've swapped numbers with and can call up for a stroll or a cuppa.

Old thread but hopefully you are still watching/get alerts.

My son is 2.5 and I live in Urmston. Probably a bit harder to meet mums now, as a lot of people are back at work. A few suggestions for local groups to try:

Drama 4 Tots, Rhyme Time at Urmston Library
Lingotots - Teaching Spanish in Urmston/Flixton
Crafty Cooks - Running out of Poppies 11 in Davyhulme
Playgroup at St Marys Church in Davyhulme
Delamere Toy Library (Friday mornings)
NCT Playgroup - Urmston Cricket Club

The playgroups are probably better for socialising than some of the classes though after doing the cookery class the other week, we all went for a coffee afterwards and I talked to new mums I didn't know.

Mums in Urmston are generally friendly and chatty!
