Art and Elephants in Liverpool City Centre

If you're out in Liverpool this weekend please pop into The Bombed Out Church Leece / Berry Street L1 2TR at 1.00pm where there will be a range of kids' craft activities and face painting in support of elephants and rhinos.

The event is part of the Global March for Elephants and Rhinos which is taking part in 127 cities worldwide, including Liverpool

Elephants and rhinos are disappearing, with an elephant killed every 15 minutes for its ivory and a rhino every 9 hours for its horns. If this continues the species will be extinct in 10 years - and the march is to raise awareness of their plight. We are protecting elephants and rhinos for the sake of our children, so they won't grow up in a world where these beautiful and intelligent creatures have gone forever.

The arts and crafts event will include colouring activities, mask-making and the chance to make a patchwork-effect elephant like Elmer

Families are welcome to come on the march from 2.00pm. The route goes through the centre of Liverpool and is not long or difficult for children– to see the route click here

Please come along, everyone welcome !!!
