Hello
This notice is on behalf of my son rather than me. I am lucky enough to have lots of friends but my kind, gentle 7 year old son has none. And I know I am probably biased but he really deserves one. He has never known proper friendship and I need to try all I can to put this right. He likes all the usual things other children his age like; computer games, Lego, super heroes, animals, nature, reading etc but as he is not sporty and doesn't like fighting and chasing he hasn't made any friends with the boisterous crowd of boys at his school. Being mildly autistic he comes across older than he is and likes to talk at length about the things he is interested in and even though he's sociable, outgoing and not at all shy, he likes to follow the rules and do things sensibly. He doesn't understand why other children are mean or unkind and he doesn't understand why he isn't popular especially as he tries to be nice to everyone and goes out of his way to make others happy. Unfortunately his life is a lonely one and now he's getting older he's starting to realise that it's unusual not to have any friends. Of course I can't make anyone be friends with him but what I hope is by posting here, someone is reading this who is in a similar situation and might even have a son of a similar age who is experiencing the same things.
