Myself, partner and two children ages 7 and 9. Are looking to move to Whitstable next summer. When we move the children will be going into year 4 and 6 does that mean they will both be going to junior school? And is year 7 straight to secondary school?

Any advice would be very welcome
Thanks

Hi! I live in Kent, and we lived in Whitstable for three years before moving to Canterbury where we are now... anyway, Whitstable is lovely! In Kent, we have the grammar school and secondary modern system. My three are all at independents, but the state schools are great here! Year 7 is straight to secondary school in the majority of schools, although in some grammars and independents are entry at 13+. Your DC's would be in junior school, you're correct! All the state schools in Whitstable are generally great! Joy Lane and St. Alphege's are ones I've heard good things about! And there's plenty of great grammar schools too, along with some good secondary moderns! Anyhow, hope you love living in Kent, it really is lovely and unspoilt!
