Wandsworth Council had recently given notice of it's intention to let the redgra sports pitch (the scruffy gravelly one behind the One O'Clock Club) and youth club on Tooting Triangle to a private operator for a period of 25 years. The idea being that the company would then develop the sites turning the pitch into an artifical grass one and the youth club into a changing/refreshment area.
A similar plan ran into a lot of opposition a few years ago (although it involved giving over a bigger area of the common).
