Nappy laundering service Twickenham / Strawberry Hill / Richmond

Hello,

This is my first MumsNet post and I have searched the site for a thread on the same topic and couldn't find one, so I hope I've not just missed it!

I am only 8 weeks pregnant with my first child so I realise I am getting ahead of myself, however I was really interested in using re-usable nappies and I have read good things about nappy laundering services. I presumed that there would be such a thing in the area (as it is jam-packed with young families) however I have not been able to find one so far.

Am I missing something? Does anyone else know of a service in the area or have used one?

I'd love to know your thoughts!

Thanks x

Maybe ask in Happicraft (next to twick waitrose), they might know.
I'm sure there used to be one. The council might know too - they used to offer £50 subsidy towards buying nappies or using a laundering service.

Hi Katherine - I know Happicraft, I'll ask in there - thanks!

Have you tried people? www.numberonefornappies.co.uk/laundry1.html Although it's not all that onerous to do it yourself once you're past the newborn stage, esp if you don't mind tumble drying them (arguably defeats the object but I imagine that's what the laundry service would do anyway.)

Sorry, I cocked up the link, try again

Hi - thanks Katherine, that is great. I had not found this one. I will fill out their form and see if they come down my way - I'm not sure they will though as they are based up in Enfield in North London and I am in SW London. You never know though! X

Worth a try, they list Richmond as one of the councils that recommend them.
