Never wanted to get any support from the council, but now...

I always thought we and our children will appreciate life and whatever we have, also be truly happy if we work hard and support ourselves financially without anyone's help. We wanted to be good role models for our children as this could encourage them to have big dream, serious targets and motivation to achieve their goals rather than getting financial support from the government.

However dramatic increase in rental and housing prices started really pushing me back. I became a full time mum and my partner is the only breadwinner in the family. We have been planning to get a mortgage for ages, but we are not not sure when this can happen.

We have been paying someone's mortgage all these years anyway (which is costing a huge amount of money for us).

The article called "East London rents higher than West London with Hackney and Tower Hamlets “property hotspots” I read today loosed my heart once more. Do we also have to get support from the council now?

I don't understand what exactly you want to know. If u need any legal or housing advice. Please visit Bromley by bow centre/ one stop shop. Local children center have housing officers too.

Exactly that we have been trying to avoid - getting support from the government.

Do you know the main reason why we don't want that? I worked so many years like any other employed citizen and had been paying so much tax, particular amount of which supposed to go to families with very low income, who can't go out to work and are really in need.
However I wasn't happy with the high amount of money I paid, it was too much. I am sure majority of us feel the same, that we pay too much tax. We never had been asked whether we are happy to pay this much. Therefore I don't want to get the money which was taken from hard working people 'unfairly', I would say. I meet so many families who are in full benefit (no one in the family works even when they actually can), but still in depression and most of the time angry, in bad mood. It might sounds really weird for some people, but I don't believe we can live happy by using that money when we actually are able to work.

I am sure there are families out there who also don't want to use the council's money even when they are not in high income. I am wondering how they are managing.

At first I thought this was funny....Then I realized the awful truth of it. Be sure to read all the way to the end!

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts
Anyway!

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
It's time to apply
The inheritance tax.

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world... We had absolutely no national debt, had a large middle class,a huge manufacturing base, and Mum stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the Hell happened? Could it be the lying parasitic politicians wasting our money?
Oh, and don't forget the relatively new bank charges....
And we all know what we think of Bankers.

I hope this goes around the UK at least 1000 times!!!
