No NHS funding for IVF if eaither partner has had children before

I can't believe I'm writing this but it's true!!!
When I went to the doctors 6 years ago because I could not full pregnant I was told I could not have NHS funding for IVF due to my husband having two children from a previous marriage!!
I then asked the doctor "I'f I was a single women and decided I wanted to have a baby could I then receive NHS funding?" He replied "yes you could, if you also had a problem your self then you could also receive it, but due to your husband having a vasectomy reversal and it not working it doesn't class yourself as having a problem". So with that information I went to BMI to receive IVF treatment, during my treatment I was told I do have a problem due to very low egg count and despite being put on the highest level of drugs I only managed 2 eggs, which I did full pregnant with but later had a miscarriage.
I then decided to go to the doctors again and explained what had happened and was told again even though I did have a problem myself "your husband has had children by a previous marriage so you are still not eligible for NHS funding.
I think this is totally wrong and unfair and think something should be done about it!!!
