Good nights out in Glasgow-please no more about private schools!!

Mn glasgow local is so boring!! All the posts seem to be about pushy parents worrying about which private school they will send their kids to.

Can we have a solely fun thread about good places to go out in glasgow please>

This can include things for kids and adults,nice cafes,events,club nights,good bars and restaurants etc.

I will start by saying that I have recently been to both the Steampunk bar and Swing and enjoyed both-usually have events on at weekend to.

I'm probably older than you (about 40) but went to the Hillhead Bookclub the other night which has loud music bit was rather enjoyable

Still love Mother India's Cafr - but if full or you want something a teensy bit different trying sitting in at Dining In next door. It's fab, curry is freshly cooked, light and a cheap. Loved it.

There is also a good pub The Sparklehorse in the West end and you can take your chuildren, they have baby discos sometimes.

I have been to the Hillhead bookclub a few times and I love it-especially when the Granny would be proud fairs are on. The butterfly and the Pig just opposite is good to.

I am 39 btw so not that much younger! In glasgow I also like boudoir,Citation and for eating the Dhabba or Pulcinella's.

I haven't been out in town for ages. I used to do drunk shopping after lunchtime cocktails at The Corinthian. It's good to get ideas of good places to go out as I find you tend to lose touch when you have children, and then it's all a bit scary..

The Sparkle Horse baby disco is the last Sunday afternoon of every month - Mono in town does one on the first Sunday of the month. The Sparkle Horse also has a cracking quiz night every Monday if you have a night off without the kids...
