Open Book Theatre Company was founded in 2013. Concerned by the exclusive nature of modern theatre, the funding cuts for libraries and the decrease in public usage of them, they decided that staging theatrical interpretations of classic novels in library spaces would be a fantastic way to create a passion for literature, theatre and the libraries themselves.
Open Book Theatre Company is bringing the magic and madness of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland' to libraries in London until 7th June 2014. This week they are bringing their fully interactive promenade performance to Wandsworth and Merton:
29th May, Tooting Library, 12:00pm & 6:30pm
29th May, Wimbledon Library, 3:00pm
30th May, Pollards Hill Library, 11:00am
30th May, Raynes Park Library, 4:00pm
Experience the Mad Hatter’s tea party first-hand, play croquet with the Queen of Hearts, dance with Lobsters and compete in the caucus race. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a performance not-to-be-missed and you can step back and watch the madness ensue or join in the journey if you choose! Expect music, humour and heaps of excitement.
