looking for childminder during Sheffield Film Festival - June 7-10th

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone might recommend some good childminders. I have been invited to participate in the Sheffield Film Festival from June 7-10 and am bringing my 6-year old son with me. I run a documentary lab at MIT.

We are from Boston, Massachusetts, USA. I was hoping to find someone who could mind him for a few hours during the day and a few hours in the evening so that I could attend some events that are not child appropriate. He is a very easy going, fun child. And he loves Harry Potter!
We are staying at the Novotel Hotel, 50 Arundel Gate.
I would greatly appreciate any recommendations!!
Sarah

Hi Sarah

I think most childminders don't work weekends. I have messaged my friend who child minds to see if she can help. I hope you find someone.

Thanks for your response and help. I should clarify that the days I need a babysitter the most are Monday, June 9 and Tues, June 10th. Also, my friend said I may have used the wrong term. I am looking for someone to take my son for a few hours while i am in some meetings during the day and attend some dinners/movies at night. Might this be a babysitter as opposed to a childminder (licensed daycare)? I don't need anyone licensed. They should just have experience babysitting small children and come with some good references.

Thanks again,
Sarah

Hi Sarah, yes that is more like a babysitting service but I have no personal experience of any. I will tweet this thread and see if anyone has any ideas.
