What are the most picturesque parts of Stafford?

I'd be interested to hear what people think. Argueably Stafford Markt Sq. looks better ever since the 1950s bus stop was taken away.

I always liked St Mary's and the street where the soup kitchen is (don't know the name, sorry!)

And the river in the park.

Hello. Thanks for the post. I have looked on Google maps, and it says The Soup Kitchen is on Church Lane. St.Mary's Church is on St.Mary's Place (reasonably enough).
I also agree with you about the river in Victoria Park. I like to have a cup of tea at the kiosk and watch the ducks (who seem to squabble a lot).
I believe that Duncan Sandy is still in charge at The Soup Kitchen. I remember my playing football with him on the grass and tree private park in front of Lawn Road, Rowley Park.

What do people think the most attractive road bridge is in Stafford?

My vote goes to the Victoria Road Bridge (which bisects) Victoria park. What is important, however, is that YOU CAN walk easily beneath the bridge (and the Victoria Road) above. The bridge combines functionality WITH it's fine appearance. See Photo attached.

Interestingly, about 10 years ago, I remember the bridge being closed and basically re-built with a lot of steel reinforcement bars being put in.

This is a photo taken in central Stafford recently. Can anybody tell where exactly?
