Is there still 20 minutes free parking up in Wimbledon Village

A family member popped into Tesco Express up in Wimbledon Village during her working day and left her car in the road opposite (the one with the bank on the corner) thinking she had 20 minutes free parking (and she had a Merton-specific permit to park for work displayed in her windscreen too). She was only in there for ten minutes and got a parking ticket ;-(.... Is she right in thinking that on both counts she's been given it erroneously? Anyone got any experience???

I'm not sure if it still exists, but when it did, I'm fairly sure you had to get a (free) ticket from the machine when parking, which showed what time you had arrived. So if she didn't do that, then the ticket is fair

Also, presumably her Merton permit wasn't for the Village parking zone?

Thanks - she may not have got the 'free' time-confirming ticket...

Her permit is Merton-wide because she has a community-based job so that shouldn't have been a problem...

Thanks for your insights, CentreCourtWimbledon.

Yes, it does still exist- and yes you have to get a free ticket from the machine and display it on your windscreen. Residents permits only valid for the zone you live in......
