Hiya, i'm going to have to choose which primary schools to apply for this Autumn, as DS1 will be going in 2014. we live in the countryside near tonbridge and i like the idea of a country school with hopefully small classes and friendly atmosphere. Anyone got the lowdown on the primary schools in this area? Am i kidding myself that a village school would be better/nicer than one in a town?

Hildenborough CofE primary school is one of the better village schools, it's rated as good and I know a couple of children who went there and were happy.

In my opinion though the best school in that area is St Margaret Clitherows in Tonbridge, its rated as outstanding and really is an amazing school. The parents are friendly, as are the children and the staff are brilliant, they have bent over backwards to help my DS, both with his school work and with issues from outside of school. The headmistress was my teacher in year 6 and has seen my 4 younger siblings go through the school, (the youngest 2 are still there, BIG age gap) and she has genuinely cared about each one of us and has pushed us to do our best, she is also very easy to talk to if you have an issue or concern, as are all of the staff.
There is also a really lovely sense of community between the parents which I think is really important.

(yes I realise i have completely outed myself with this post)
