Advice needed for good nursery North of Bristol please :)

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help please? I have just moved to Chepstow, but will be going to Uni at Glenside Campus (UWE) starting September one day a week and will be on placement in Kingswood for two and a half days per week. I have a 16month old son and feel nervous leaving him in nursery around Chepstow as I will be too far away from him and my partner works in Cardiff (45 mins from Chepstow).
Could anyone recommend a good nursery near the Uni and on easy route of Kingswood?
Would be grateful for any advice :)

My children both attended Silverhill School, Early Years Dept/Nursery based in Winterbourne, North Bristol - however it is probably slightly out of your way. I was always very pleased with it. A friend of mine also used Squirrel Tree Nursery at Frenchay Hospital which is pretty close to UWE, and she was always very positive about it. I think it caters for children of hospital staff but I'm pretty sure anyone can use it. It would be worth a look. They don't seem to have a website though.

Thank you lovinglapland, I will be classed as hospital staff and was thinking about Squirrel Tree nursery, it's so good to hear that your friend says positive things about it, word of mouth is so important :)
Do you know approximately how long it would take for me to get from there to Kingswood? Thanks again :)

Oh Squirrel Tree sounds ideal then :)
It would all depend on the time of day to be honest. It's definitely quicker going from west to east around the Bristol ring road in the mornings. I'd be making a guess as I have never driven it myself in rush hour - but I'd say maybe 30 mins, which is double what it would take with no traffic!
The notice board on Bristol netmums site is really busy, and someone on there may be able to give you a better answer if no one else comes along!

Kazlar.... How is it going with the commute into Bristol ? How long does it take and do you drive in ? I am planning on doing exactly the same, looking to buy in Chepstow and got to UWE Glenside campus next Sept ! Any info would be great xx

We use St Michaels church nursery which is at Stoke Gifford, next to Parkway station, and are very happy with it. It's run as a not for profit business and they seem to care more about children than money, which is unusual in our experience. Website is shoddy but it is worth a look.
